​the Hawaii Writers Guild​
Book Sales

Books authored by Hawaii Writers Guild members are available for sale at online booksellers:

    smashwords.com
    and others. 


In addition, printed works are available at local bookstores, retail outlets, Pop-up Bookshops, and special events. Big Island book stores where works are available include:

    Pukalani Stables Farmers Market (Kamuela) Pop-up Bookshop
    Kona Stories,  Keauhou Shopping Center 
 
   Basically Books, Hilo 
    Big Island Book Buyers, Hilo

Performance

Our writers periodically read their works at bookstores, coffee shops, theaters, organized open mics, libraries and other public venues. In the recent past, our members have performed in: 

    Waves of Words, at Tutu's House 
    Words and Wine! at Kona Stories

For the Love of Words, at Kahilu Theater
    Readings, at North Kohala Public Library and Thelma Parker Public Library
    Author Presentations, Paniolo Heritage Center at Pukalani Stables, Waimea 

Writer Support Groups

Our members participate regularly in local writing support/critique groups. Recently, during the Coronavirus pandemic, all of these writers support groups are being conducted remotely via Zoom:

    North Kohala Writers Group, Hawi
    North Kohala Library, Hawi    
    Tutu's House, Waimea Writers Support Group
    Volcano Writers Group, Volcano Village
    Saturday HWG Writers Support Groups

Writing Assistance

The Guild has plans to offer workshops in writing, publishing, blogs, and use of software. Individual writers will be lending their skills in proofreading, copy editing, and computer disciplines.  In addition, m
embership in the Guild offers a free exchange of ideas about writing, publishing, and marketing. Members are encouraged to share their expertise with others.

Writing Contests

The Guild has plans to organize writing contests for both children and adults in the near future.
