Welcome from Our Managing Editor
Aloha all writers and readers and welcome to the fourth edition of Latitudes.
We’ve got a good one. It’s been a fruitful time for Guild writers. One-third of HWG members sent a total of 74 submissions across all 4 genres, and a good number of writers submitted multiple works, with 28 ultimately accepted for inclusion in Latitudes IV.
The diversity in themes and the range of writing styles are impressive, and the execution award-worthy, including some exceptional works submitted in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and a special fantasy presentation in Drama. I guarantee that you will laugh, cry, smile, and wonder, with more than a few tugs on your heartstrings.
My advice is hurry, get those specs on, curl up, snuggle, lean back on your favorite pillow, couch, or chair, grab that ice cold iced tea, and immerse yourself into provocative creative writing.
Special thanks go out to our hardworking and insightful Latitudes IV Staff without whom this publication would not have been achievable: Eila Algood, Laura Burkhart, Richard Bodien, Cheryl Ann Farrell, Joy Fisher, Dave Fouts, Bryan Furer, Linda Heath, Mark Kelly, Tamara Williams, and Margaret Zacharias. And kudos galore to Duncan Dempster, our indefatigable online guru who engineers the conversion of plain text to magic-on-the-screen display.
We hope you enjoy this fine collection of writing from our Guild members.
Mahalo,
Bob Lupo
